Last Sunday, it was reported by the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations,Colonel Usman Abdul that an Army Colonel serving with Nigeria Army School of Infantry, Jaji, Kaduna State, had been kidnapped.
According to the statement, the Colonel was abducted by armed men around Kamazo near NNPC junction, Kaduna, around 7:30 PM on Saturday.

The Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the three tiers of government collectively owe the electricity distribution companies about N60bn.
According to the Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors, the umbrella body of the firms, the Nigerian Army is the highest debtor, with over N15bn as of December 2015.

ABUJA (Reuters) - Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari will not sign the 2016 budget bill passed by parliament last week unless lawmakers provide more details of the legislation, a government official said on Tuesday.
Parliament had earlier sent the bill, which calls for record spending, to Buhari's office but it had contained only highlights of the budget, no details, the official told Reuters, asking not to be named.

NEWS: Buhari appoints Amaechi's man as NIMASA boss

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dakuku Peterside, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 governorship in Rivers, as director-general of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
NIMASA is under the supervision of the ministry of transport, which is headed by Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers state who spearheaded Peterside’s electioneering campaign.
Yetunde Sonaike, director of public relations in the ministry of transportation, confirmed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.

BREAKING: NNPC Shut down Nationwide by Staff in reaction to unbundling order #FuelScarcity

African Independent Television (AIT) reports that operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have been shut nationwide.

This action by oil workers is sequel to Tuesday’s order by President Muhammadu Buhari that the petroleum corporation be split into seven units. The report suggested that members of staff and management of the corporation arrived on Wednesday morning and could not gain access to their various offices but were subsequently asked to return home as oil workers enforce total strike.

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, berated the senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Mr. Dino Melaye, over his comment on the governor’s choice of a wife, describing him as “childish” lawmaker who “cannot maintain a matrimonial home.”

While contributing on the floor of the Senate on the need for Nigerians to patronise made-in-Nigeria products on Wednesday, Melaye had reportedly made reference to Oshiomhole’s marriage to his Cape Verdean wife, Iara, urging Nigerians ‎to focus on “made-in-Nigeria women”.
“We will also move in order to encourage made-in-Nigeria products and begin to talk about made-in-Nigeria women,” he said.

For refusing to accept Fiancée, Son Stabs Mother To Death

A 30-year-old man, identified as Ibrahim Oniyide, who allegedly stabbed his mother to death, has been remanded in prison.

According to the police, Ibrahim killed his mother, identified as Tawa Oniyide by stabbing her with a kitchen knife and broken bottle all over her body. It was gathered that the suspect on the fateful day had gone to introduce a woman to his mother as his future wife, demanding that she accommodate her.
