CCT erred on Saraki, Judgement not binding - Agbakoba,Adegboruwa

Code of Conduct TribunalA former President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Chief Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), has faulted the Code of Conduct Tribunal for declaring itself at par with the Federal High Court.
The former NBA president was reacting to the issuance of a bench warrant for the arrest of Senate President Bukola Saraki by the CCT on Friday.

Following the development in the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) today, Friday, September 18, 2015 when the Tribunal chose to ignore the subsisting order of a Federal High Court by sitting, we hereby state our position as follows:

HID Awolowo passes on at 99, after centenary birthday celebration planning meeting

The matriarch of the Awolowo dynasty, Chief (Mrs.) Hannah Idowu is dead.
She died on Saturday at exactly 3.15am at her Ikenne home. Mama, also known as Yeye Oodua, who would have been 100 years on November 25, was said to have attended a meeting of her forthcoming centenary birthday earlier in the day before retiring into her room, where she breathed her last.
According to a statement signed by her eldest daughter, Mrs. Omotola Oyediran, on behalf of the family, she died having spent the last day in the company of her children, grand children, great grand children and close family members.
The statement read in part, “She shared a precious few minutes with them when she went in to pray for them, as they met to plan her centenary birthday.

The Senate President has mourned the passing of the widow of Pa Awolowo, HID Awolowo at 99.

He talked about how he longed to surprise her at her 100th birthday and wrote a tribute.

BREAKING: Senate President removes APC branding from Twitter Account #Saraki


The Senate President who is currently battling forces in his party and the presidency, and recently being issued a bench warrant by the code of conduct tribunal has removed all APC branding from his twitter account.

When twitter users noticed this, Saraki responded saying he is the Senate President of all senators irrespective of party and still remains with the APC.

He also noted that the President, Vice President and Speaker of the House do not also use the APC branding.


Well, this drama keeps unfolding and would be an interesting one to watch.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that one of the conditions given by Boko Haram for the release of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls was for the Nigerian government to release one of the sect members with expertise in making Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the President stated this on Tuesday in Paris while responding to questions from members of the Nigerian community in France under the auspices of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO).
Buhari however said his government would not accept such a demand.
“They wanted us to release one of their leaders who is a strategic person in developing and making Improvised IEDs that is causing a lot of havoc in the country by blowing people in Churches, Mosques, market places, motor parks and other places,” he said.
